The Oxford dictionary defines colonialism as the policy or practice of acquiring full or partial political control over another country, occupying it with settlers, and exploiting it economically.

The colonial era in South Asian region ended with the collapse of British Raj in Hindustan, which also proved to be fatal to colonial control of Kashmir region through Dogra Raj.20117299434995734_3

Yet, this was not the first time when the regional boundaries of the state of Jammu and Kashmir were redefined. 

The apparatus that was dominantly controllig Kashmir region under colonialism ceased to function in 1947, but political fight to control the region continues.
